Dearest Karen ... On this Christmas Eve, I thought I would take a moment to wish you and yours the merriest of Christmases and the most Joyous and Wonderful New Year yet. Through the course of a single year, I can think of no one who spreads the messages of love, compassion and kindness more than you. Your music touches all who are fortunate enough to hear it. And you are indeed a national treasure. As a fan and a friend, I wanted to say thanks again for all that you are, and all that you do. May everything you wish for, and all that you work so hard to accomplish become absolute reality.

I love the song "Precious Child," It has helped me through the loss of my Premature son who passed on November 2nd when he was just a few days short of 2 months. We played it at his memorial service and everyone cried. I will always listen to that song and think of my son. Thank you so much for writing a great song like it.

Dear Karen,
Your gift to me is the song "Precious Child" which I found accidently on a website just after I lost my 28 year old firefighter son in late 1999. The words you sing are the words my heart feels. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your gifts that you share with us who do not have the ability to express their thoughts.
Still a grieving mother....

Karen, I love your website. I like your personal appearances better. (I frequently sing along with you when you play at Christ Unity in Chattanooga. I'm mailing in an order. I will buy on Angels Wings at Barnes and Nobel as it will probably help you more to buy it there than at your site. Love be with you Karin Brands

Dear Karen,
We met yesterday at Unity Houston. You and your voice have taken residence in my heart and mind. Thank you for the healing lyrics and music ... and for sharing those messages with your clear, crisp, healing voice. Thanks God you're here and now.
We hugged and spoke about your mom and dad's health and lives, and the fact that my mom had transitioned last August ... as you signed a CD for me. In telling friends about you and your wonderful personality and touching messages, I learned that you may be acquainted with a schoolmate of mine from Galesburg, Michigan ... Danny Stewart is how we knew him then. Danny was a couple of years behind me (my brother Steve's classmate actually) in school, and very well acquainted with Bonnie Hoard Oviatt ... the lady who made the connection. It was Bonnie for that I bought your CD "Art Work" as she has lost so many close friends and relatives in the recent 6 months ... and who quickly remembered that Danny had sent her your recording of "She's Gonna Fly".
What a small, wonderful world.
In hearing the entire "Art Works" CD last night, I've committed to buying all of your work for my continued healing ... and have several other friends who need your message and voice as well. The gift list grows!!!
God will always bless you KTG ... and all of your family!
Hugs and best wishes,
Gary Higgins
PS ... thanks for the great website. Without it I might not have been able to tell you how much you've impacted me.

Karen,
You truly have the voice and the heart of an angel. Please come back to Dallas, TX and perform for us. I did not know of you when you came to Uncle Calvin's in 2001 or I would have definately been there. Your songs touch a special, deep place within my heart and have changed my life.
Looking forward to meeting you on your next visit to Dallas,

The website is terrific. I sent a separate e-mail requesting assistance in finding the sheet music (for purchase) for "All My Roads" since my sister-in-law would love to have the song included as part of her wedding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted at either jmflynn13@aol.com or michael.flynn@53.com
Thanks and keep up the terrific work.

Hi Karen! I've been a fan of your writing ever since Patty Loveless's "How Can I Help You" and then with all the songs you've done for Collin Raye. God Bless you for using your amazing talent to touch people so deeply!
Wrote a college paper (Rhetorical Criticism, about getting to the "nitty gritty" of the message), about "Not That Different"...thanks for co-writing such a great song.
You are an inspiration for aspiring songwriters like me. Take care! Angie from Western NY

Being new to Karen's music and talents I felt I had to share how much the song Precious Child has impacted me. The death of a child, no matter their age, no matter the cause creates a permanent scar in your heart and soul. Karen's song expresses the emotions of a grieving parent so compassionately and clearly. Since my son's death on 6/23/00 my life has changed drastically and music was something I avoided. Thank you, Karen, for creating music to soothe my shattered heart!!! Joey, you live forever in my heart :-)

Hi Karen,
I met you at the Taxi Rally in LA last November when I bought your CD and you signed it for me. Your presentaion in the Taxi workshop resonated with me to the core. As a "mature" artist with 3 grown daughters I can relate deeply with your world views and the sentiments in your songs. I am a Canadian singer/songwriter living and working in Hong Kong (read music hinterland) and releasing a 10 tune Indie CD this summer. I would like to send you one of them (no expectaions or hidden agendas) just because I would like to share my tunes with you.
Thank you for being you,
Musically yours,
Henri Ferguson

Hello,
What a beautiful website. Jason Blume's website directed me to you - and you are indeed a talented songwriter. I am also a songwriter and especially enjoyed your new song, "On Angel's Wings". See me at www.donnabritton.com if you get a chance.
I intend to order your CD so that I can enjoy your music in the comfort of my own living room and also share it with my husband and friends.
Sincerely yours,

CommentsI just want to say that my sister is Portland-Oregon
had the pleasure of listening to and talking to karen at the L.E.C. center. She sang the song
ON ANGELS WINGS and dedicated it to her mother who
had alzheimers. My sister bought the C.D. and sent it to us for Christmas. It has become our song for our mother who is in a nursing home waiting to fly.
Thankyou for the song- It makes a difference!!! bob

CommentsKaren - I really enjoyed your concert/workshop at Unity Church of Overland Park this past Sunday. It came at a time I really needed it. I had your CD's with me at work (listening to new and old ones) when I heard from my mother that our dog, Chien, was going to be put to sleep (she has been in pain from cancer). I was able to put your CD on and listen to "Old Friend' and mourn the loss of my dog. It really helped. I haven't seen her for a year because she is stayed with my Mom in Maine when I moved here (Kansas City) 2 years ago. Thank you for writing music that touches the heart and helps us heal.
Your friend, Christine Cannell (a friend of Lori Beth & Ken Gilbreath)

CommentsHello Karen, just visiting your web site after researching you, the songwriter of one of my favorite songs of all time, "How can I help you say Goodbye". That songs is so powerful I just can't find words to describe the feeling I get when hearing it. I've been in music 30 of my 42 years, as a guitarist, not a writer, and I surely do appreciate your special gift of writing. Amazing work!!

I will remember you in my prayers and thank the Lord for you and your inspiration.
Thank you.

CommentsKaren,
I hadn't listened to your music for awhile, but found One Mile Apart when cleaning out my CD's. I would love to have the sheet music for the title song, but don't see it in your list. Will you ever add it?
